Automotive design is the hottest new frontier for 3D printing, and now a team of students from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have created a pair of solar-powered vehicles which take advantage of the process to remove unnecessary weight and streamline the car's shape. The NV8 and NV9 are the work of engineering students at the school's $30 million Additive Manufacturing Centre, and they're capable of speeds up to 37 mph. Both machines will be entered in the Shell Eco-marathon Asia competition in Manila at the end of this month.
