    Hot End Replacement

    Hi

Do hot ends have a short lifespan ?

I have had to replace my J-Head 3 times in 6 months - I'd say that I'm running the printer for approx 15 - 20 hours a week using PLA and a 0.4 mm nozzle.

For some reason I will randomly get a jam in the hot end and I am able to fix temporarily by cleaning the nozzle, but it comes back after a couple of prints. After 3-4 attempts at cleaning the noxzle over a week, I end up replacing the hot end and it runs fine again for or a month or so.

    Cheers Graham

I would try a dust filter. I had a similar issue where my nozzle kept clogging so I decided to try a dust filter and now I have no issues.
