I've never heard of PLA having any issues with water. What's your source? I tend to use PLA for most of my prints, but have used ABS when I want something that will hold up a little better/longer.
It's not a bad business model. It's a way to let 3D printing make a difference. It is part of the whole open source attitude. Think about all the great things that have come about because of...
Yeah, it's pretty well known that they do this. That's the reason that I never read their articles. A lot of what they write doesn't even make sense sometimes. 3dprintingindustry and 3dprint are my...
Mass production allows for cheap parts. It'll just be interesting to see how they can put all these printers together. That will take some serious labor time.
Jeff, is there a ship date announced yet?
Do you think we will ever see extremely large 3D printers with build sizes in the 5 foot x 5 foot x 5 foot range? I haven't seen any yet. Are there any that exists? I just think there could be the...
Can anyone tell me if I would be worse off using a Bowden extruder rather than a Direct Feed? Can someone please tell me what the pros and cons are of each? I have always been led to believe that I...
I believe you still need to pay shipping on these. For some reason when I click on "add to cart" nothing happens. Has anyone been able to successfully order these?
Wow, very very nice! I would love to be able to serve my guests these :)
As far as I know these are the only guys that actually 3D print using food. Are any other companies doing similar things?
What is the best and most useful software out there to use the Kinect as a 3D Scanner? Also, how would I go about using it as a scanner? Can I do it through my PC?
I didn't know this is possible. Has anyone ever combined hydrodipping and 3d printing to make anything cool? This bow tie came out so awesome!

I don't think any scanners out there on the market right now are so called "Print Ready". All of them will require some degree of touching up.
I usually use glue sticks. Works pretty well. Funkymonk, I never thought of cold glass, but that seems brilliant.
Does anyone know if there is any software, or another method that can be used in order to log prints. I mean things like speed and print time for each print, and automatically save it to a file?
Do we have any talented designers that frequent this site? I'd love to see what you guys consider to be your most cool design that you have made to date. Feel free to post yours.
I'm just getting...
Wow, thanks for sharing. Very helpful!
I don't know if we really "need" an open standard for filament. Heck, if you look at 2D printers, there is not open standard for toner and ink cartridges. It may just be one of those things, where...
It really depends on how much detail you need to scan. That gnome above has a lot of detail, thus it isn't all captured. You aren't going to be able to replicate small details unfortunately. ...
Wow's that's awesome. I wonder if making this free had something to do with Amazon starting to see 3D printed stuff.
