Have you thought about making a MendelMax 1.5/2?
I personally find the new Slic3r way more stable and just all round faster.
Chickens. I like cats, but Chickens, mainly roosters, are awesome!
I think it was MakerBot Academy.
Actually, Apple hates open source. Oh, and isn't subtractive manufacturing a CNC machine??
Yes, burning is just about the only risk apart from the fumes. If he uses PLA, I think it would be a great idea.
BTW, I'm 13 and I have 1 + 1/2!
^ Same! They need a store in Australia
Very nice print quality! Congrats!
Even with a heated bed ABS still tends to warp... PLA will work better with a heated bed, but it isn't requied.
To sum up what DrLuigi said,
Adrian Bowyer is the fonder of The RepRap Project.
BTW, MakerBot may have been open source at one time, but it was never a part of RepRap.
If you pay $40/Kg you would only get 2-3 Kg.
You might tell the differance bettween 100 microns and 25.
Basically what Compro01 said.
True... RepRap is how I/we say under $600...
Where are you located? Depending on where you're located, there are allways people (like me) who will be willing to help.
There are 6 axis delta printers:
http://www.3ders.org/articles/20131006-6-axis-3d-printer.html
So basically there are 4 different licenses that the thingiverse designs can be under.
1. All Rights Reserved. Basically, all rights reserved.
2. Creative Commons. You can do what ever you like...
Yeah, you'd have to get shapeways to print it for you... I don't think PLA/ABS would cut it...
How much was the Kit? Did you have to solder it?
I think I recall hearing a few good experiences from people who have ordered from them.
Ultimaker can get down to 25 microns (0.025mm) layer hight!
So, do you know what printer you want to build??
My personal favourites are:
1. Blender. (Free, www.blender.org)
2. Maya. (~$1,700/Free, providing your a student. www.autodesk.com)
3. 3DS Max. (~$1,700/Free, providing your a student....
HP has one. It's called HP Designjet 3D Printer series.
