IF you need to do a lot of molding you may want to check out this roto-mold that looks like it will be on kickstarter soon. RotoMAAK
it is cheaper to build a printer that only prints PLA.
Two prints of about 16hrs that I glued together on a MM 1.5
Here is a little on lost PLA casting
Here is a video of it being used in injection modling.

I just did a video that discusses how to deal with filament that is out of spec. I only recommend going through the trouble if you have 2+ rolls that are out of spec.

Unfortunately, any money you save with low quality filament is quickly lost with time and effort into getting a decent print with it. There are some over seas suppliers that provide an ok product....

The saying, "you get what you pay for" is very true when it comes to filament. Lower quality filament can have embedded debris, non-uniform formulation and poor tolerances. These issues can cause...
If you need 1000's of anything, 3D printing is not where you should be focusing. Traditional manufacturing's strength is in numbers. 3D printing's strength is in small runs and one off pieces.
I see a lot of people saying to measure your filament and use that number, I have had better printing performance not doing that. I honestly have no idea why. The few times I have measured and used...
Unfortunately thats like asking how long is a piece of string. What you are printing, how much infill you use and how many print failure all affect how fast you go through a roll. If you are...
Linear motion is a way to keep an object moving in a straight line. For example the rods and LM8uu bearings on the Prusa i3 keep the parts moving in straight lines. It's not as complicated as it...
I wonder if this is really the first or just the first to have a press release. I would be surprised if Gun manufacturers didn't use 3D printing in Prototyping.
Really you only need 2 things to make a 3d printer, linear motion and motion control. There are steppers in a lot of different applications, I found one in an old floppy drive. If you can find...
13 the kids almost in high school. At 13 I was using a table saw, lathe, roto-mold, vacuum former and drill press in shop class. I would say 4-5 might be to young to operate the printer but even at...
There is one thing you can do. Educate yourself and everyone around you about the proper and improper uses of guns. It is important to understand how they help and hurt us in society. Guns are a...
