3D Hubs Reaches 10,000+ Hub Milestone

As ideas go, this one was a doozy. What if you could create a network that would allow people around the world to find technicians near their homes who could 3D print files on demand? Brian Garret and Bram de Zwart did just that with their 3D Hubs, which has quickly become a worldwide phenomenon in its own right. The Amsterdam-based company has seen massive growth since its 2013 inception, and 2014 represented a huge year for them. As we begin 2015, 3D Hubs has announced that they have now managed to sign up more than 10,000 techs and their printers across the world. Bram de Zwart, co-founder of 3D Hubs with Brian Garret, shares five things that they did to launch this hugely successful global network of over 20,000 3D printers. A simple launching, ambassador program, recruiting industry leaders, starting off-line, and becoming an industry thought leader are all steps 3D Hubs took as it was beginning its journey. Oh, and don't forget having a mascot! Marvin, 3D Hubs' printable robot mascot, is the most 3D printed item at MakerBot's Thingiverse.
