Lego X - 3D Print Your Lego Creations The Way they Should Be

Legos have been a staple of childhood (and beyond) since their 1949 introduction, engaging scores of people in fun building projects with the iconic plastic blocks. Gravity Research Club, which as far as we can tell is not affiliated with Lego, recently posted a video showing their new idea for a project. "Lego X" takes Legos to the next step. While Lego-built creations are already in three dimensions, they always appear pixelated thanks to the blocky building blocks; by using sensors and tablet connectivity, Lego X senses the location of each brick and can form the object you're building in a smooth model. After smoothing out the model, the design can be 3D printed, bringing the non-pixelated object to life and preserving the project forever, leaving you free to take apart the bricks without losing the design. Check out more details, and the project's introduction video, in the full article: http://3dprint.com/33388/lego-x-3d-print/

What do the sensor embedded lego bricks cost ?

It's definitely a cool idea, but sounds expensive.
