Fuel cells convert chemicals or gas to electricity, and are positioned for further R&D to become a new Big Thing in energy production. Researchers at Northwestern university are now looking into high-tech materials to bring 3D printing into fuel cell production. The Shah Group Tissue Engineering and Additive Manufacturing (TEAM) lab, led by Dr. Ramille Shah, is developing ceramic materials to more efficiently produce innovative fuel cell designs. Their fuel cells utilize materials made of ceramic particles, a binder, and solvents. Check out more about their process: http://3dprint.com/29454/3d-printed-fuel-cells/
