Hauke Scheer 3D Prints Incredible Action Figures

Hauke Scheer takes the traditional action figure and puts his own twist on it. The designer has been creating traditionally made figures for Deep Fried Figures, his own company, for years, but in 2013 began working with 3D printing to prototype. Since he had already been designing in 3D, it seemed a natural progression. He designs the figures -- using The Foundry's Modo Software -- in a method more often seen for animation than for 3D printing. That process makes the models more mechanically oriented, which is perfect for action figures with movable parts. He uses a Stratasys Mojo 3D printer to create them.
