Freeform Project Seeks To Create Industrial 3D Concrete Printers

Loughborough University in the UK has been working since 2007 on the Freeform Project, through their Innovative Manufacturing and Construction Research Centre (IMCRC). This project seeks to create a 3D concrete printer, and they're ready to get it out of the lab, two generations and two successful prototype prints later. They've just signed a collaborative agreement with Skanska and a consortium of partners to develop, build, and commercialize a 3D concrete printing robot. Representatives from Skanska and the IMCRC will be speaking at the 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Industrial Applications Global Summit in London next week.
