Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death around the world. The Living Heart Project, announced this past May, has made great leaps forward over the last several months in seeking to develop noninvasive techniques in research into cardiovascular disease. Today, consortium participant Dassault Systèmes announced the signing of a five-year collaborative research agreement with the US FDA. The agreement with the regulatory agency will initially target cardiovascular devices, including pacemaker leads, used to treat heart disease. Dassault Systèmes has created 3D models of the heart.
