It seems as thought each and every day there are more uses being thought of for 3D printing within surgery. The latest case is a man who was suffering from cervical spinal stenosis. He had loss use of his legs in a matter of weeks, and was forced to have a very risky spinal surgery. Chinese surgeons utilized 3D printing to create a guide plate to use when cutting slots into his spine. The guide plate ensured that the slots would be in the exact location, and that they wouldn't create further damage to the man's spine. We are happy to report that the surgery was a success.
