The first 3D-printed telescope produced images of the moon on it's first try. Created by University of Sheffield researchers, it is composed of basic parts, along with a mirror and camera module from a Raspberry Pi computer that work to take images of what the user is viewing. The telescope is made from a simple Newtonian reflective design and although very affordable to make and 3D print, offers resolution and viewing pleasure of a telescope that would normally cost ten times as much. DIY'ers can download the plans to make their own on Thingiverse shortly. More details on this 3D printed telescope can be found here: http://3dprint.com/15888/diy-3d-printed-telescope-uk/
