    Intel RealSense 3D Scanners to Be In All Tablets, Eventually Smartphones

    Intel has announced that they will soon be offering 3D scanners in all their tablets, and then smartphones. Starting next year they want to have RealSense 3D scanners in all their new tablets. Smartphones will take another 2-3 years. The company has also launched a $1 million contest for developers who can create applications based on their new RealSense 3D scanning technology.     There’s no doubt that Intel has been moving on a straight and steady course with owning the 3D scanning market, and delighting savvy tablet and PC owners by allowing them the independence of 3D scanning virtually anything and having it either as a digital design for artistic purposes, or for sending straight to the 3D printer. Intel is also expanding in the China market, working with numerous partners who are hungry for using their Atom x3 chip family in the manufacturing of numerous products.
