We have all seen the little 3D printed figurines which companies produce from 3D scans of individuals. One main issue seen within these scans and prints is the lack of defining characteristics of a person's hair. In a new research paper presented by Disney Research, they outline a process which is incredibly precise at capturing the hair of individuals. Using a process which smooths the hair and keeps the same flow and color, they are able to achieve remarkable results. More details on this research can be found here: http://3dprint.com/11433/3d-print-hair-figurines/
