NORMAL - 3D Printed Custom Earbuds!
Have you ever wanted to listen to your music but didn't want to have to put in this loose fitting earbuds? You know the ones that either fall out in a few seconds or hurt your ears so badly that you can't stand to wear them? Well a new company, NORMAL hope to change this with their new $199 custom earbuds. They allow you to scan your ear using a mobile app, and then they 3D print custom made earbuds that fit your ear perfectly. Better yet, you also get a custom case with your name on it, also 3D printed. Priced at $199, I'm pretty tempted to get these myself. Quoted from the Article:
“3D printing has been around for prototyping, model making and hobbyists,” she says. “Normal is using 3D printing for the first time to mass produce a consumer good.”
Got news for you; many, including me, have been selling 3D printed products for consumers in volume for many years on EBAY, Amazon and elsewhere. Good job with the earbuds but Normal is not the first to use 3D printing to mass produce a consumer good.
