Lithuanian Researchers Testing 3D Polymerization via Polarization

Researchers at the Laser Research Center of Vilnius University are looking beyond traditional 3D printing and the layer-by-layer approach for more significant expansion of additive manufacturing technology through focusing on nanolithography and the use of ultrafast laser pulse based non-linear light-matter interactions as outlined in their article, ‘Nanoscale Precision of 3D Polymerization via Polarization Control,’ published recently in Advanced Optical Materials. They see the potential for great impact to optical and scaffolding structures covering applications such as tissue engineering, telecommunications, and electronics.
