Phillippe Malouin Designs 3D Printed Connection Bowl

Canadian designer Phillippe Malouin has designed a unique 3D Printed Bowl that is currently being sold on Othr, a collaborative homeware design shop. The Connection Bowl, which is available in either 3D printed steel or 3D printed porcelain, combines a vintage look with functionality that would only be achievable with emerging technologies such as 3D printing. Equipped with side panels that act as both a stabilizer and handle, the 3D printed bowl is finished in a matte black color. "functionality that would only be achievable with emerging technologies such as 3D printing"? Am I missing something? This is a bowl with side panels - it could be built by anyone with clay and fingers.
