Chuck Hull Honored, SLA-1 3D Printer Becomes Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark

Today Chuck Hull is being honored as the inventor of 3D printing, but the true celebration centers around the original SLA-1 as it becomes a Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark, taking its place alongside only 250 others. The induction was offered by by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), who were at 3DS headquarters in Rock Hill, SC yesterday as the SLA-1 was put into place in the 3DS lobby with the historical landmark designation of the 3D printer, next to a special plaque.
