While we’ve reported on the great work of e-NABLE volunteers throughout the years, it has been only logical to wonder when they would translate some of that experience to other limbs. Now, Frankie Flood, who has been a volunteer for e-NABLE for many years, put his students at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee to work in a new project called Next Step, as they made open-source, interchangeable 3D printed coverings for leg prosthetics—and began working with veterans. They also entered their design in the Infymakers challenge and won the $10,000 prize, allowing them to finish their product in entirety.
