Smith & Nephew Unveils 3D Printed Titanium Hip Replacement Implant
Once again, both metal 3D printing and the medical industry are at the forefront of groundbreaking news. As the AAOS Annual Meeting convenes in Orlando, Smith & Nephew is showing off their new REDAPT Revision Acetabular Fully Porous Cup with CONCELOC Technology. This is a 3D printed titanium implant for hip replacements which they state will improve bone ingrowth over traditional methods and materials like sintered beads or fiber mesh.
