BioArchitects Has Clearance to Begin Marketing 3D Printed Cranial Implants

BioArchitects, which specializes in reconstructive implants made from 3D printed titanium, announced today that their 3D printed, patient-specific cranial/cranialfacial implant has been given 510(k) clearance from the FDA, meaning that they can begin to market the device. The first of its kind in the United States, the titanium implant is printed using Arcam AB's patented electron beam melting (EBM) technology.
