For MakerBot's challenges this summer through the Thingiverse Summer S.T.E.A.M. Challenges, some truly impressive entries have emerged. The Catch The Wind Challenge closed on August 2nd with 159 official entrants vying for the first place prize: A MakerBot Replicator 3D printer. Kyle Carstens' entry, the Wind Car, features a unique take on a wind-powered vehicle -- the 3D printed car is propelled toward a wind source, rather than away from it. Carstens designed the car in 25+ individual parts, using Solidworks, and is planning to continue iterating upon the design to ease the assembly process. Check out the car's design process, as well as video of the motion achieved, in the full article: http://3dprint.com/86457/defy-the-wind-3d-printed-car/
