Oliver Turan, vice president of CAD Technology Center in Minneapolis, is used to architectural scanning. But he's now exploring new scanning terrain through his new business ME 3D, which is opening a store in the Mall of America on October 19. The store plans to scan and 3D print lifelike models of people for special occasions or "just because." The idea of 3D printed mini-mes has already taken off, and Turan believes his business is the only one offering this service in the Twin Cities area. The store will likely expose many more people to 3D printing since the Mall of America is a tourist destination as the largest mall in the United States. Good for business!
