    Odin Manufacturing's Dry Filament Solution

Odin Manufacturing and Design Consultants just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a 3D Printer Filament Storage Stand. The storage cabinet will hold up to six standard 1kg sized spools of filament and keep them dry by combining a large bag of rechargeable silica and a low power heating element. The cabinet has a standard price of $349, however there are still some early bird options left for $299. YOu can find out more about this Kickstarter campaign over on 3DPrint.com here: http://3dprint.com/90509/odin-filament/

be very easy to make. can't see anyone coughing up that kind of money for a cabinet with a rail through the middle.

I just dont get moisture issues. Don't know whether it's the filament I use or that my workshop tends to only vary between 40-50% humidity. But it's never been an issue.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Yes, I agree with you. You can't expect people to believe that a box, 2 hinges, a rod, a seal and a low power heater cost 300$.

We purchased boxes at Walmart and mounted rod-brackets in them.
Printed Brackets from files downloaded from thingiverse.
(Thingiverse download even includes a Hole-drilling Template)
No heater but we put Desiccant bags in them.

These were considered expensive but No where near $300. LOL

I'm sure there are places , in the world, that would need a Heater also, but Not Here !
