Montréal-based sculptor Guillaume Lachapelle’s work was, unbeknownst to him, an ideal fit for a conversion from traditional sculpting techniques and materials to 3D printing. His work, which features architectural models rendered precisely, with the structures removed from any familiar context, was an ideal fit for 3D modeling and printing. Small-scale and reliant on detail and precision, the sculptures have the appearance of tiny sets from which all color and human activity has been drained. Lachapelle explained that, with the advent of 3D technology, he was able to shift his focus from time-consuming, manual production to digital design and 3D printing. His most recent works are eerie dioramas that suggest an infinity of sameness. Check out more details here: http://3dprint.com/86199/lachapelle-...nted-dioramas/
