Startermate -- A 3D Printing Filament Starters Kit

Filamate, a filament manufacturer from Bulgaria, is catering to beginners with StarterMate--a storage box that arrives with two rolls of filament, all the tools needed for finishing 3D models, a tutorial, and an extension kit offering additional options. The StarterMate box features an innovative design that provides a built-in axle which rotates the 3D printing filament out, meaning the user never has to unpack it. A device is also built-in so that the user can see exactly how much 3D printing filament is left at any time. Read more about the kit and Filamate's plans in the full article: http://3dprint.com/81542/startermate-filamate/

Below is a look at the StarterMate:

that's actualy a really good idea.
From just this forum you can see that there are a lot of people out there who don't do ANY research before buying a 3d printer. So a ready made kit would be ideal for them.
Include a small booklet entitled :The things you SHOULD have learnt before buying your printer'. And it'd be perfect :-)

A big thank you to Bridget and the whole 3dpring.com team for this great article about our start-up! And Brian, thank you for starting this thread - it's a great opportunity for us to hear the industry's feedback about our products. Here's a brief update on what's to come from our side:
    - Our PLA filament in a protection box will be available through our web shop by the end of this month.
    - The StarterMate kit will be launched through a crowdfunding campaign this fall.
    Stay tuned for updates!

had a chat with these guys at tct - nice bunch.
And if you know someone who's getting a 3d printer for christmas - this would definitely be a good add on gift.

Thanks, curious aardvark! TCT was a great show for us and we are happy to hear that we've attracted some attention.

Since we are currently live on Kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...kit-for-beginn) probably we won't make it to deliver yet for Christmas, but you are absolutely correct - our starter kit is a good add-on to a new printer.
