Japanese designers Taketo Kobayashi and Yoshinori Sakamaki are working not only to offer 3D printed prosthetic designs to those in need, but also present their fabrications as artwork, celebrating the human body with design heavily influenced by anime, Japanese subculture, and both contemporary and ancient cultures. The digital designs take about two weeks, and then are printed on a ProX 500 3D printer, taking about 17-18 hours.
