Thingiverse user "1nxtmonster" has already designed several impressive objects that can be 3D printed, such as a NERF gun and an RC airplane. His latest fully functional design brought him from AutoCAD to catching fish in just a day, as he created a 3D printed fishing rod and reel. The 3 pieces of the design--rod body, spool, and crankshaft--can be printed at the same time and are easily assembled. Next, he intends to add to the design with a telescoping pole.
