Steve Wood is a name that has become quite familiar as of late. He has been utilizing FilaFlex filament to create all sorts of interesting products. Recently, however, he got the idea of devising a method of 3D printing two separate materials within one layer out of a single nozzle. He didn't just want any two materials to print on the same layer, he wanted to combine a flexible material with a rigid one, in order to perhaps works he way to creating better prosthetic hands. He has proven that this method works and his next project is printing prosthetic hands which have a rigid internal skeletal structure yet a softer, more realistic, flexible external structure.
