A surgery in China, using a 3D printed model of a woman's severely crooked spine has aided surgeons in correcting her "hunchback". The woman even grew an additional 4cm in height and 3D printing allowed surgical time to be cut in half. It also greatly reduced the risk of paralysis. The same hospital that performed the procedure hopes that in 2-3 years they will be able to 3D print real bone and other tissue for patients.
