It isn't just Dr. Behrokh Khoshnevis working on large-scale 3D printers for construction uses, though his Contour Crafting technique is certainly making impressive progress. A consortium of three Spain-based companies has also begun making waves as they work toward eventually industrializing the 3D printing cement process. The Con3D Consortium is made up of Prodintec, Coprosa, and Tudela VeguĂ*n. Recently, as a proof of concept, the consortium has produced an apparently comfortable sofa made of their specialized concrete material.
