Madeline Gannon, the principal at design co-operative Madlab.cc, says the Tactum project uses a Casio XJA251 projector to extract a user's “natural gestures...which don't require specific training” to drive a 3D modeling software suite. The software includes a set of 3D printing-specific constraints embedded within its geometry. The combination of hardware and software means that no matter how much a user manipulates the digital geometry input, the resulting designs generated are “guaranteed to be 3D printable.” You can read the whole story here: http://3dprint.com/57397/tactum-3d-printing-design/
