Orori Announces 3D Jewelry Printing Initiatives
Jewelers like George Budi Sumantri of Orori and Eddie Bakhash of American Pearl are finding that making jewelry on demand using 3D printers gives them an edge in one of the world's most competitive marketplaces. Online design features like Orori's ‘Design My Own’ let users select a diamond based on budget, shape, color, carat, cut, and clarity and then choose the band and setting -- or even design it themselves. Orori's system also allows users to type in their input for engravings and then review how their message will appear on the piece. Bakhash's American Pearl uses proprietary CAD software to drive a Solidscape T-76 3D printer which shoppers use to customize their designs and have the finished product delivered in 3 or 4 days. Trying to replace your jewelers with 3D printers? Good luck with that.
