3D printing/design platform df3d has just introduced a new, free offering: eXtrud3it. This tool allows users to quickly and easily take their 2D image (JPG/PNG file) and render it into a 3D printable STL file. The process takes only seconds, and the 3D model can be seen on a web app available on the site, then downloaded. While it looks like the tool could still use some work, it works pretty well already. Users also have the ability to embed the eXtrud3it tool on their own websites. For a look at the tool and process, check out the full article: http://3dprint.com/43749/df3d-extrud3it/
