Back in December, we were introduced to Robotica, a 3D printable ball-joint doll designed by Sonia Verdú and available for free download on Thingiverse. With nearing 12,000 downloads since her introduction, Robotica is one popular model. South Africa's CAD House, an affiliate of 3D Systems, decided to take Verdú's invitation to modify the design very seriously and has created a 5'6"-tall Robotica model, scaling up the original design by a factor of 5. The entire doll was created on FFF-based desktop 3D printers in about 240 hours of printing time and using about 4kg of gold PLA filament.
