Michael Rogers of Ithaca College and Scott Stull of SUNY Cortland are leading a project to 3D scan the entirety of the Lincoln Cottage at the Soldier's Home, and those files might some day be available to 3D print. Lincoln spent nearly a quarter of the time during his presidency at the cottage, and it was there that he penned the first draft of the Emancipation Proclamation. Now scans of the home -- taken using a Leica C10 3D laser scanner -- will be used to create a 3D virtual tour of the historic home and should become available to the public.
