    Hello everyone,
I am new to 3D printing and have a question.
I bought my Qidi printer used and it came with PC/PBT
Ran a 3" X 3" X axis carriage replacement part, mine is melted.
240 temp with bed at 110
used S3D software with default settings.
The corners lifted up (all four) about .5 to .75 mm
Do I need to drop temp on the bed after first few layers?
    Thank You

I am surprised by the pc/pbt material. But as you said, it is a used machine. My understanding is that the hot end temperatures required to print with the pc materials are above 240 and are higher than what the stock QiDi PTFE lined hot end can sustain undamaged.

I am am not a fan of changing the bed temperature at any point during the print. To me it seems like exactly the wrong thing to do. If warping is caused by changes in a material's dimensions with temperature, why intentionally add more temperature changes to the system?

So....I'm looking for thoughts on layer thickness.

I have recently printed out a number of these for myself and a coworker: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:213990

They look great, and everyone is quite happy with them. However, when I was doing a pair of them for my coworker and his son, I decided to print one at .1mm thickness, and the other at .2mm thickness. Nobody, including me, can tell the difference.

Is that mostly because it's an (extremely) organic shape? When printing at .1mm am I just wasting time?

    Thoughts?

I had a similar problem a while back.
Need is not level and it is too far away from the surface .
I had to level my bed about 6 times.
Make sure you have the nozzles and bed preheated when you level as well.

I'm using my usual heat and such settings. I've leveled many times.

    Any suggestions?

I have seen a few prints in their translucent and it is really nice - cool looking colors. Asking about shipping to the US but probably cost prohibitive.

Anyone know off hand what the draw is on the QIDI printer? Not near mine to look at the power supply specs and need to stop to buy some electrical stuff before getting home. Trying to save a trip!!

Did you see the section in their wiki that discussed preserving and restoring filaments? Maybe there is a way to fix that sizzling filament.

Their certification paperwork says 300W. I've not measured it, but that sounds like a good max number.
