A couple of years ago, two MIT students tied a cooler to a helium balloon and launched a camera 90,000 feet into the air to take photographs. Now, the designers at Life3D have perfected a design complete with insulation and the capacity for buoyancy in case of a water landing that can be nearly entirely created with a 3D printer. The STL files necessary to create the capsule can be downloaded for free on the Wevolver website where you can either print your own -- or send it Shapeways for production. Then, just tie the capsule to a weather balloon, check local regulations, and launch. Check out more details: http://3dprint.com/31870/camera-caps...ather-balloon/
