Charleston, West Virginia's majestic dome stands to remind visitors of the state's embattled and controversial beginnings during the Civil War. Today, the state is home to a growing 3D printing and additive manufacturing scene--led by Marshall University's Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing. The idea, which started last year, is to involve the Institute in designing and 3D printing 200 ornaments for sale at $20.00 each to raise money for local charities through the Daily Mail's Neediest Cases Appeal and Gazette Charities. This year's ornament features a close-up of the iconic capitol building dome and is now available. Further details on this story can be found here: http://3dprint.com/30896/west-virginia-3d-ornament/
