Cancer is a deadly disease which if not controlled at the right time can take a human life, according to a study conducted in 2012 an approximate of 7 lakh patients died of this disease in India alone. Out of the various kind of cancers known to mankind, Oral cancer is probably the most common after breast cancer. To replace the lost jaw bone of the face a bone from some other part of the body is used. Fibula supporting bone from the lower limb along with its blood vessels to keep it alive is quite regularly used to conduct a Reconstructive surgery. “Contouring of the straight bone from the leg to the curved jaw bone to fit the the deformity is an enormous challenge that the surgeon comes across. This is extremely important to bring back the facial contour back to simulate the original jaw bones.”
