    Stratasys Unveils The StreetScooter C16 Partially 3D Printed Car

    The StreetScooter C16, an electric partially 3D printed car, should be a sight to see indeed, at the Stratasys booth at EuroMold 2014 this month. With nearly all the plastic components produced from a Stratasys Objet1000 Multi-Material 3D Production System, the C16 is a fully functional electric car that was developed over 12 months in conjunction with Aachen University and 80 other entities, with Stratasys playing a lead role in the 3D printing arena.     I gotta say, the Stratii is cooler, but this is probably more honest about what they both are: really nice golf carts.

    Don't get me wrong, the concept is neat, and more importantly, it drives (no pun intended) innovation in additive manufacturing that can be brought to other fields (including components of cars) even if fully (or mostly) printed cars themselves will never really be market viable.
