    Metal printers for consumers

    Are there consumer 3D-printers that are able to use other materials than plastics?

    There are some that are fitted with extruders, so you can print in various pastes and clays. See the Hyrel, for instance: http://www.hyrel3d.com/

    The amount of filaments being available nowadays for simple home printers like Makerbot and Ultimaker is quite astonishing, check out for example the Bronzefil filament which is metal-infused plastic. After some polishing it looks and feels like metal. Another interesting filament may be PORO-LAY, it is porous and after soaking will become elastic and flexible. It can be infused with liquids to give it different properties - maybe you want to make it conductive like metal?
