Corrugated metal is the default roofing material for many structures in developing countries. Unfortunately, it has several significant disadvantages that sent Harvard researchers in search of a better alternative. Resilient Modular Systems has introduced two products, a slab and a brick, that are made out of recycled plastic filament. The idea is that a roof system that is modular and easy to produce could also be easily customized and less expensive than alternatives.
