Splitting a object easier?
My flashforge creator pro is on its way (Woo!!!) Few more day's and I will be printing things finally. But my question is, say I have a object that I want to make bigger, at the moment I'm wanting to make this "painting" but bigger ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:472295) , say around 24in x 24 in. Currently I am using tinkercad to split up the pieces into the correct size, but its quite a process on there to just basically, cut out pieces from the stl.
Any easier way to go about cutting objects faster I guess is my question. Maybe I will give photoshop a shot with a 2D image, split the layers, then extrude them back to 3D.

Good choice, it should serve you well.
There is many ways to split objects, I do it manually in blender myself, but if you want a good tool, try meshmixer http://www.meshmixer.com/download.htmlHex3D - 3D Printing and Design http://www.hex3d.com

Well I believe I got it all split up by using Netfabb Basic, total 20 parts. You should check that program out, it helped quite a bit with that splitting items. Although they are not going to piece together correctly unless I put a small back on it i believe. All the more reason to try out the Dual extruders eh?
