    3D Systems Acquires Village Plastics

The leading 3D Printing company in the world, 3D Systems announced this morning that they have acquired a rather well known 3D Printing filament manufacturer, Village Plastics. The Village Plastics website can be viewed here: http://villageplastics.com/

3D Systems plans to immediately integrate Village plastic into the business framework of their company. This is a very nice horizontal acquisition for the company for sure.

With the Village team on board, we expect to be able to enhance the profitability of this growing category and fast track the delivery of new high-performance filament-based products." said Avi Reichental, President and CEO, 3D Systems.

This is like the 4th acquisition that 3D Systems has made thus far. They seem to be on a buying rampage. I assume they are trying to stay ahead of the game with Stratasys growing steadily, and Hewlett Packard announcing that they are getting into the 3D Printing market soon.
