A report was released the other day by Markets and Markets indicating that the 3D Printing Materials market is likely to grow at quite a rapid rate over the next five years. At the end of 2012 the materials market was valued about about $70 million. The report predicts that by 2018 the market will grow nearly 300% to close to $210 million. Currently North America and Asia dominate the market, and by 2018 the Asian market will grow even faster. There will be much more competition over the coming years, leading to lower prices, and more supply, especially within the plastics niche.
