I recently started listening to the podcast: "3D Printing Today", by Andy Cohen and Whitney Potter. They mentioned that Stratasys owns a patent for heated build platform enclosures. Not sure if it's relevant, but maybe that's why so many 3d printers came without full enclosures.
I was able to finish my enclosure this last weekend with two sheets of very thin lexan from the hardware store. It's easy enough to score with a box cutter and snap, then a little light sanding and it's good to go. Hardest part was making the dome for the top. Well worth the effort, since then I've had several perfect ABS prints. By that I mean, zero warping, and what I would consider perfect finish.

- I'm glad to hear your getting successful prints. You should throw up a pic of the enclosure, I'm kind of curious how it turned out.
Do bed magnets deteriorate.
