    I don't see how a lot of the DIY projects people are trying to sell can even be sold. Thingivierse alone has how many quadcopter designs? It only took me a few hours research to figure out most of the other components I would need to purchase to make one fly, and not counting my time or filament, I can probably get off the ground for sub $100 (being a RC boat enthusiast, I already have the TX/RX hardware).

    With the 3d community being very opensource minded, I find it difficult to understand how people who own a printer can even consider buying the stuff.
