One of the more useful applications of 3D printing for Museums and collectors at least, is their ability to make replicas of valuable artifacts. One Dutch artist named Maaike Roozenburg has used 3D printing to recreated 17th century Dutch glassware. Using CT scanners to create models of the actual glassware, and then several printers, they were able to create ceramic replicas.
